Hotmail is now “Outlooked”: What’s new with Microsoft Office Outlook Connector

June 24th, 2007 by ShajiFiroz

Its always time consuming to check multiple mails using multiple interface. In gmail, I was able to consolidate most of my mails to one interface and using send as feature, I literally did not use other email application interface to send/receive. So cool!

Now with Microsoft Office Outlook Connector Beta, you can use Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 or 2007 to access and manage your Microsoft Windows Live Hotmail or Microsoft Office Live Mail accounts, including e-mail messages and contacts for free! Here is the download link.

Outlook Connector Beta enables you to use your Live Hotmail accounts within Outlook:

  1. Read and send your Office Live Mail or Windows Live Hotmail e-mail  messages.
  2. You can manage your Live Mail Contacts.
  3. Able to use advanced options for blocking junk e-mail messages.
  4. You can manage multiple e-mail accounts in one place.

What is not free are the following additional features:

  1.  Manage, share, and synchronize your Windows Live Calendar in Outlook.
  2.  Access your Tasks and Notes.

I just now downloaded and installed it within my Outlook 2007. Locate the Outlook Connector from the Menu, and simply add your Windows Live Account.

In a nutshell, If you’re already using Outlook, especially with multiple e-mail accounts, the Outlook Connector is a great way to manage your accounts together with powerful tools.
